Dr Anju Chazot

Anju founded the Mahatma Gandhi International School (MGIS) with the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation as a Public Private Partnership in 1998. MGIS is a unique K-12 school authorized by the International Baccalaureate, Cambridge, BTEC (UK) and partner with Mission Laique Francaise where children learn through real life projects, research and reflection.

About Anju

She has created Generated Resources Learning (GRL), an innovative, joyful and multi-sensorial pedagogy inspired from Indian and Western educators and philosophers such as Gandhi, Krishnamurti, Tagore, Sri Aurobindo, Piaget, Freinet, Dewey and Rogers.

Anju is appointed to many National Committees for Implementation of National Education Policy 2020, established by Government of India (Toy Based Pedagogy, Holistic Progress Map, National Focus Group (Curriculum and Pedagogy , committee for innovative teaching and TLM).

​

Internationally, Anju has provided teacher training in prestigious schools in France, particularly in Normandy, for the Department of National Education (Caen Rectorate, Ministry of National Education) and IRFA-EST, center training for adults in Mulhouse, Alsace and for the International Baccalaureate.

 

Prix

Anju was awarded the Order of Academic Palms in 2023, a medal awarded by the French Republic (Ministry of Education) for distinguished academics. Anju received FICCI SheRise Award and Election Commission of India Civil Society Award (2016)

Anju was appointed Foreign Trade Advisor of France (Conseiller du Commerce Extérieur Français or CCE) by the Prime Minister of France. The CCEs are a group of 4,500 women, men and business experts spread across more than 150 countries, who share their experience in the service of France's development.​

Publications

She has been an education columnist for leading English dailies such as The Asian Age, Ahmedabad Mirror and Divya Bhaskar. She has scripted and presented several films on education with the Educational Media Research Center (under the University Grants Commission) and with French filmmakers. His publications include “Clay Cures”, “Parenting for Teens in Modern Times” and on education in “India and its Avatars” (University of Montreal) and other academic articles. She is currently writing several books on education for major French and Indian publishers.
